Hello ODK History Lovers

The Simplex was manufactured by Hardman and Hall, Marine and General Engineers,
of 161 Missenden Road, Newtown, Sydney.

The 85cc Simplex engine was purpose built for rotary lawnmower applications
and was used by a number of 1950's manufacturers.

Known users:-
- Buz-A-Cut Mowers
- Hasmow Mowers
- Kleencut Mowers
- Malvin Mowers (one reference)
- Minter Mowers
- Pace Mowers
- Rawco Mowers
- Rover Mowers

TO BE CONTINUED

PART THREE - Catalogue Evidence

Hardman & Hall Simplex engines should be recognised for their contribution
to vintage lawnmower history. The evidence shows they made more than one
model of engine for lawnmower use.

I have a number of catalogues that provide evidence of Simplex use.
These include spark plug catalogues, a 1960s Repco catalogue, a 1963
ACL ring & piston catalogue, and a trade-in guide for lawnmowers from
about 1964.

Please find attached:
- 1957 Champion Spark Plug catalogue (extract)
- 1960s Champion Spark Plug catalogue (extract)
- 1960s Repco catalogue (extract)
- 1963 ACL catalogue (extract)
- 1963-64 Trade-in Guide (extract)
