Does anyone know why this saw will not stay running? My dad bought it new in 1960 and had nothing but trouble with it. It would run like crazy for a few hours then quit. He would take it to the shop; they would rebuild the carburetor ar adjust it and it would run fine for a few more hours. Finally he gave up on it. I now have it and after 35 years of sitting it started on the third pull! It runs great, when I can get it started and then only for a couple of hours. Any ideas about this thing.
Note: Dad also bought a similar saw in 1958. He says it was the same model but i do not think it was. He said it was the best saw he has ever used. He actually wore it out in 2 years clearing off his farm. It used a different carburetor than the 7-19C I have.

What make carb does it have? The Brown carbs were replaced by Tillotson & are likely still avail... Something else to consider...Condensers will sometimes not work well enough when they get hot.
