Victa 2a engine number clarificaton

Hi victa lovers help2 I am thinking about restoring my 2a,but am not sure if it has the genuine engine. Has victa 125 embossed on it ,and on the side engine number is 68517.hope someone knows for sure,as I am very fussy with restoring,and want it right cheers2

G'day Pope. Sorry to say mate, but 68,000 would make it a mid run Model 2 engine, with steel wheels etc.

It's generally accepted that the 2a serial range is from 100,000 to 110,000.
