Hi all,
Picked this up from the tip shop today for $20
Checked the piston and bore and it was in mint condition. A quick service, new blades and a new battery is on it's way. Starts and runs like a dream.
Some before and after shots for those interested.

Bigted, that will be a great machine for an elderly person or woman who has trouble starting mowers.
That's if they don't mind mixing fuel.
Base wont rust.
It came up really well, nice big wheels.
So was it discarded just because of a flat battery?

Hi Mark, it was probably discarded because it had no spark. A new plug sorted that out.
Amazing what people throw out and why. I'm guessing no one even tried a new plug in it. I also picked up a keystart 909 (GMC in disguise) last week and all it needed was also a new plug. People never cease to amaze me, they obviously have more money than sense.

Excellent Pickup - Key start's are few and far between at my local junkyards. They always sell quickly to retired people when I do get a hold of them for decent coin.

I agree with Mark - that model victa base is quite robust and being alloy it wont rust. The only problem is cracking.

Anyhow nice work - mowers sure are disappearing quickly this time of year!
