Hi all, just thought i'd post my latest $10 tip find. The blade carrier had broken off and hence why i believe the previous owner threw it out. I replace the blade carrier, put fuel in it, primed it up and started on 3rd pull. Mowed my lawn with it and works a treat, didn't even need to touch the carby. Some before and after pics for your viewing pleasure .
You certainly know how to detail a lawnmower! The last two photos are fantastic at depicting the before / after, and what a 'sensitive' restoration means.

p.s. the top photo seems to show your shadow, and you're cocking-a-snoot at the defenseless little Victa. Not your usual gesture ... Doctor ...
That looks great! I'm still working on my first mower. I took all the rust off my muffler (and a few other things) and then sprayed it with high temp clear paint.
I was so consumed with jealousy when I first saw this. That was when I got my decrepit 125cc version. But after filling in the myriad of cracks and worn away alloy on the left (which afflicts most of these bases) and finally painting it with fresh gold hammertone, it truly feels rewarding and better than obtaining a good one.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
