If anyone needs an engine and clutch assembly for Austral Villiers 2 stroke cylinder mower like this: ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/10/full-7681-24974-austral_villiers_reel_mower.jpg) then I have this: which I will swap for some Atco 2 stroke parts. Can't say if it's still a runner.

This must be the first model. Note the cooling fins on the exhaust manifold.
I think this directed all the exhaust gases into the chain case via a metal hose. The chaincase was the muffler.
Later models would have an external muffler, with flexible pipe running to the chain case (from the muffler).
All very exhausting. ----------------------------- Jack

I call it the Villiers "elephant" because of its trunk.
Pity the rest of the mower was put in the tip by the guy who found it on the side of a road. He cut the engine out then decided he didn't want that either, so I grabbed it figuring somewhere there'll be somebody who can use it for a resto.

Hi GTCYep, the "elephant" it shall be. A beehive cylinder connected to an elephant's trunk. What an unusual creature. There's a complete unit for sale on an auction site at the moment. What a pity no one, yet, has seen the value in these AUS machines. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Classic-Old-Mower-Austral-Villiers-/252146855511I hope your parts will help a A-V owner somewhere ... Hi GTC and CyberJack,
The machine above is another complete example, if it was close to me it would soon be in my shed but alas the tyranny of distance :-(. No bids either, I have been watching it since listing.

Hi Paul and GTC
That is so true Paul! The tyranny of distance makes 'lawnmower clubs' pretty hard to kick start in OZ. The Old Lawnmower Club in the UK is really not something that could be replicated here at this time.
For collecting, that same tyranny works against many great machines going to collectors who would, otherwise, value them.

Good to see that the Austral Villiers on eBay was purchased ($56), so presumably it's been saved from the tip.
