Recycling and Repairs
Good morning fellow shoppers.
I am in the process of getting a Victa 3012TX (Mfg date 00215) model 31721x88B, which was built by Murray (their version being 31721x88A), back on it's feet. I am missing the complete headlight assembly and was wondering if anyone knew where I may be able to locate a good 2nd hand one, without the expense of buying one new from the USA.
Part numbers are: -
Grille, Upper : 91736 with Murray version 91736MA
Lens, Right : 91734 with Murray version 91734MA
Lens, Left : 91735 with Murray version 91735MA
Photo of machine is attached.
Thank you for your assistance and have a great day.
Regards
Daryl

Funny how things happen sometimes.
My local mower shop just happened to get a Victa 3012TX in for repair, so I took some photos of the headlight assembly I am looking for as they wouldn't let me take the one from this mower for mine.
I will also need the wiring and bulbs included as well.
Can't justify paying around $200 to import a new unit from the USA.
Thank you
Daryl

Does anyone know of a ride-on mower wrecker I could contact that may have this assembly? Preferably in NSW, but doesn't really matter if they have the parts I need.
Thank you
Daryl

A few mower wreckers advertise on gumtree.com.au - a search there on 'ride on mower wrecking' will find them.

Dunno what any of them are like to deal with, or if they would ship bits - you'll have to enquire.

Cheers,
Gadge

Thank you Gadge. Have searched for parts on ebay, but will try a search for mower wreckers. Have a great day. :-)

Well, it may not be perfect, but it does fill in the big hole in the front of the ride-on.
So, this Wanted ad can now be closed.
Lots of cutting up of a cardboard box to get general shape.

First version designed from photos of a genuine assembly.

Covered in Plaster of Paris ready for fibreglass.

Too high and too wide to open bonnet, so that was a sad moment.

Cut down and taped together to get the shape and try again.

Headlight blank made from fibreglass ready to fit. Third time lucky.

Well, it's not a perfect fit at the top. Has about 10-15mm gap to bonnet, but it works good enough. Painted headlights because who mows in the dark. :-)
