I'm replacing the snorkel on a Model 5 Victa.

Q1. Is the Model 5 mower designed to operate with a specific length of snorkel?

Q2. If so, what should the length be?

Q3. If so, how do I measure that length, ie, on the outer side or the inner side of the snorkel's bends?

Thanks

Nova,

As to snorkel length I do not know of any spec's. What I used to do was run the machine and if it was running rough then I would shorten the snorkel a bit at a time till it would run smooth. cheers2

Thank you Bruce.

I have purchased a new snorkel from Bruce, but it seems to be a little longer than the length shown in the model photos and diagrams, as though it now needs to be cut to its correct size (whatever that is).

Unfortunately, I do not have the original factory-fitted snorkel.

Also unfortunately, I don't have the experience to know when it is "nearly" running correctly, so I could end up cutting too much off.

Perhaps the Model 5 snorkels were all made to the same length, even though this was not stated in the Victa documentation.

Q. Could any forum members who own a Victa Model 5 please advise me the actual lengths of the rubber snorkels on their mowers, and how/where the lengths were measured. Perhaps there will be some consistency in the lengths.

I would then feel a lot more confident about cutting the new snorkel, and knowing the motor is running in its intended state.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thank you again Bruce.
