Hi all odk members here are some pics of the restored mystery turner

[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

the alloy deck is quite thin and i am not surprised the deck had a few pieces missing.
some new alloy pieces were made and welded in , bit like a jigsaw puzzle.
welds buffed off and the deck painted.

The Kirby lv 30 was locked up, tiger tried to remove the sparkplug but broke it in half,
the motor would turn but not go over tdc,
after pulling it down major corrosion from the cylinder head filling the top of the bore with a white powder, reason it would not go over tdc and why tiger snapped the spark plug in half it was corroded in
ended up making a good motor out of two.
crank was scored , bearing surfaces in pto side of crankcase were scored.
put the engine together in a spare chassis wound up the starter , full choke, folded the starter handle and away she went, idles and runs well, I was wrapped.

Painted it in colours that were close as I could find to the original colour,i still have to fit the blade carrier yet, think I will use a disk instead of the blade bar thing.
would like a couple of turner wheels if any one has some for sale.
two are rs, other two are not to bad and need to be rebushed.

damo cheers2

Hello Dedegy!

The image uploading issue seems fixed now!
What an awesome job on a Turner Utility!

You also appear to have some very rare Turner ephemera.
Is that a fuel container? I've never seen one of them.

Thanks for saving this Turner.

Hi Damo

That's a treat! Now part of the record for Turner!
I've seen the fuel can and the blades - now the oil container,
funnel and docs. Thank you.

Hi dodegy & vccomm

You are a very progressive thinker vccomm ...

hi chris
wow that turner looks to be in great condition , what a score, it doesn't look like it needs too much work to restore , matter of fact I think with a bit of elbow grease and a good detail polish ect would come up looking pretty good in its original state.
I bet the motor turns over. that's a great pick up and another turner saved from the slow boat to china.
not surprised you can,t find the other turner ,you must have lost track with the amount of mowers you have.!!!
check for some spark and see if you can get that one started
thanks for the pics
