Another example of good Aussie ingenuity with this very elaborate height adjust system on an early Rotomo 2.

If this was "Engineered" prior to Victas first integrated height adjustable Utility/Standard, the Model 8, then Id have to say this is a very impressive attempt.

Id love this Mower...If anyone is in Bendigo who could hold this for me until I can organise freight, please let me know.

Hello Buniper and HT6

I do want to say something here.
HT6 is quite perceptive in that this does record Aussie ingenuity.

This is a classic example of that.
My guess is that this is a 1960s modification of a 1950s machine.

Chris, it's great that you have seen the historical value in this.
This post now forms part of the provenance for this unique mower.

It needs to be preserved as is (in my view).

Cheers

that's what I thought when I saw it for sale, I have no plan to do anything to the mower. I will post some pictures of how the height setup works etc when I pick the mower up.

cheers

Hello Chris

That would be appreciated by members.
It seems a thought-out mechanism, and I feel it should be recorded.

I have written about Robert Philpott and his Minter mowers.
I have said that I believe he was the first to use - and patent -
a single point height adjuster acting on 4 wheels on a lawnmower.
So your machine is clearly relevant to that story.

Cheers and thanks.
