Now that is nice staunch looking mower. Paint it matte black it would look killer.
That frame looks super efficient.

Hello Paul, vccomm and Paul

Yep, a nice, robust machine from Masport.
It's nice to see the chassis '76' matches the engine '76'

I thought the President would have had a dress cowl on the top.
It is possible the starter has been changed. But maybe not.

In any case, Masport have had a long heritage in Australia.
They are NZ's top iconic brand - their 'Victa'.

I thought the same thing with regards to the pull start... but all the paint & mounting look original banghead

If it's not original then I'll monster truck it... WTF
With this,,

back and here they are , odd though i thought the blue and green ones were the older of the crowd ? blue is 79 . nothing on the green one just sort of an item number but no date and other grey/silver is 89 .
grean one was a tchumseh but as always a carby issue . and i just wrecked another masport so it donated its later model wheels and engine . was a steel based jobby so wasnt really worth the effort of a repaint .

'Yamaport' - I like that smile

Masport, in the day, made really good cast bases. They were master foundrymen.
This is a mid-arch, and it would have cut and collected dry grass really well.

Yamaport - Masuki - Frenkenport ...

Hi vccomm,

You've opened up a can of worms.
The assumption is that high arch mowers may have been good marketing,
rather than good design ...? I've always thought that.

I'm lining up a catcher for it this week... I've found the Older mowers pack the catchers full (wet or dry) compared to my 10yr old modern mower

Curiosity killed the cat! hehehe
and again devilchilli
