G'day blokes & Ladies,
I got myself the Mower that started it all for me & mowers. bigshock
The same mower My Dad & Grandfather bought new in 79 & in a reasonable condition "for age"
Hoping to restore back to new.... looking for catcher & wheels. I can get new wheels but cost an ARM & LEG.. $70ea for Rear not sure for front.

Hello Paul

This is the best preserved Rover Baron I've seen.
Arguably, Rover's most successful rear catcher lawnmower.
The wheels were the best in the industry.

Good photos for the record too!

All very aristocratic.

I've bot a Baron sitting in the pile of deaduns, different model, probably later, but I will check the wheels for you and post a photo.

Very nice, looks to be very well preserved. What's wrong with the existing wheels ? I need a rear one if you have an extra one aussietrev. Mine has chewed the inner bearing hub clean off.

Here is where I originally posted a pic of the Baron ES (Electric Start) model I have plus another Rover with a Suzuki on it.

I'll take a closer look at the wheels today and do some shots if it stays fine. Absolutely bucketed down here last night, which was fantastic, but I guess a couple of days time a lot of mowing is going to need to be done.

Here are shots of both rear wheels Sooper Dooper, are they the same? Bearings are shot in non adjuster side wheel but hubs themselves seem to be intact but I haven't pulled them off the mower yet. $20 including postage for the pair via Auspost satchel with tracking sound reasonable?

Does anybody live near Queanbeyan, NSW
[size:17pt]Does anyone live near this

[color:#FF0000]If I buy this, all I want is the wheels so if someone lives out that way who could
pick it up, take off the wheels for me, can keep the rest of the mower.

Just post the wheels to me, I'll pay post.

Thanks aussietrev but that's the condition of mine I'm after some like the above ones cheers2

Well here's an update.
Found a Rover Craftsman at the tip with a good set of rear wheels, "That's all I saw in this thing" for my Baron45 yay well me being me I thought will she GO rolleyes
Check filter, give carby a spray and blow out, check needle & reset it, new plug.
BAMM away she goes, running like a new old mower party so I took the Briggs & Talon from my Neighbor & said Here have this one " starts easy & runs very well " " bigshock was his reaction"

Now back to my Pride of the collection.
Did the same treatment as above but put new air filter in.

bigshock starts on second pull & runs so sssssmoooooth. I haven't even clean her yet. rolleyes
Also I'm still Amazed at the condition it's in for a 1979 mower bigshock
