The gears are cast onto the shaft, not removable by design. the horizontal shaft comes out first, then the vertical drops out the bottom. They have been discontinued for approx. 30 years. best bet is to swap the shafts with a good set from a donor mower. be careful, not all tractor 11's use the same shafts, tractor 8 and mini tractors are also totally different lengths.
