Anyone recognise these machines? I'm accepting delivery of these tomorrow night (And a Victa with Tecumseh 4 stroke to resell) all for swaps with an Aussie made powertorque. Good deal I think!

hmmmm... realy close , right down to the nylon joint there
different wheels but , badge engineering that far back close to 80's maybe ?

I originally identified the third mower as a Morrison or Masport.
There is a real possibility that this machine is a rare Turner-Morrison!
The date would be mid-1960s.

I can't wait for ihatewetsocks to receive this machine!

That certainly looks like the one!

Thanks Jack. You seem to have been 100% correct.

Dave; that starter fits on and certainly looks the part but won't catch the cup. I just can't be bothered working out why at this point.

Curiosity got the better of me and I had to clean up some of the mud from the morrison.

A lot of work to do on this one but has potential.

Well, that's the first Turner-Morrison rotary I've seen!
Here's a Morrison brochure extract of the same model, but with
earlier handle. Quite a handsome mower!

So I spent a bit of time on this one today - took the flywheel off and I WONDER WHY I HAD NO SPARK!!!!




Cleaned it all up and I noticed A break in the kill wire. Fixed that and now it has spark.



Cleaned out the carby but still no go. Had to put a couple of washers under the starter bolts to prop it up a bit and now it works well. Not sure what happened there.

It's down on compression so Dave if you still have those gasket sets I may grab one from you.

Don't want to be beaten by this one ...

I forgot to take a before photo of the carby but you can use your imagination from the look of the air filter ...

It is just amazing how durable these Kirbys were.
My folks first power mower (Pope) had a VK engine on it.
It was un-stopable - but we kept the filter clean.

This M66/4 Golden Rotary is a real find.
And with a new muffler, silence will be golden

Old thread here but finally got around to having another look at this one.

I think I've fixed the compression issue (The inlet valve was sticky) now compression is good, I've re-cleaned the carby and still no go. I'm finding the spark is inconsistent. Using a spark tester it has spark then doesn't then does but it's weak etc etc.

Haven't had a lot of experience with these kirbys soooo what ya think is more likely ... faulty coil or incorrect points gap? (Incidentally anyone know the correct points gap off the top of their head?

But the points gap is .020"

Funnily enough I removed the muffler today. The studs came out VERY easily. Didn't even need to use wd40! Couldn't believe it.
