Will have a close look at this mower to try and diagnose why "it just doesnt go". Maybe this is a hover model.

It possibly because it has no wheels.It would be very hard to push around the lawn.
No I don't think it hovers as it looks heavy and has axles.Must be very quite too it has 3 mufflers,and cuts well with four cutting discs.Be careful when starting that one.You won't hear it,but you'll feel it.

put wheels on cleaned it up, carby looks new now, new sparkplug, air filter, washed out fuel tank and line, it has spark plenty of compression and will not even cough with a bit of wd40. so i went through it again, pulled carby off and replaced everything. no scoring on the bore and the rings look good. No go. I may go back to just swearing at them.

spied a starter in that pile too , you think he might have changed it ? if no big "o"ring under it it sure wont fire, see if you can see under the coweling , look at the bolts on starter for spanner marks

vccomm the only thing taken off was the wheels, used half a can of degreaser looking for leaks. this thing has not been touched by a tool since i started on it a couple of hours ago, i think i said that wrong

You mention it has a new plug and plenty of compression BUT not that it actually has spark.

When I start to run out of ideas I always go back to basics.

Check that you actually HAVE spark and that when the throttle is moved to stop that it DON'T have spark. That will show you whether the kill switch is working properly. Then take the starter off and check the o ring. I usually just change them anyway as they are very cheap. After that change the inlet manifold O rings. This will all make sure there are no air leaks.

Are you getting fuel to the spark plug? Remove the plug and touch/sniff it. If it is dry and no fuel smell you are not getting fuel through and there is a problem in the carby. IF it smells like fuel and is damp then the carby is fine. If it's soaking wet then its a problem in the carby.

Try putting a teaspoon of fuel in the spark plug hole and see if it fires.

Work your way through the problems systematically and you will get it going. You may aswell change the primer O ring and cap while you're there.

If all else fails check that you have the correct main jet. Someone may have changed it and mixed the jets up between LM and G4 carbys.

Take it slow and work systematically and you'll get it going.

One more thing, You say it has great compression - how are you measuring this? Is the decomp valve working?

too cold now man but will swap all for what i know works. "it just doesnt go"? systematicly, nice word man. how can i check the decomp vv it moves up and down? the great compression is gauged by how i smile??? some are nice some are not nice to pull start. found a gmc trimmer today. new fuel, first pull. why did the chuck it out?

To test compression remove the spark plug, place your finger over (NOT IN) the hole and pull the cord. If it has compression it will suck on your finger. No suck no compression. No compression change the head gasket as a start (if the rings and bore are good as you say). To test the decompression valve remove it, place a length of (NEW) fuel line on the outlet and suck on it. If it closes it's working.

People throw all sorts of things away like that. 3 weeks ago I bought 2 newish ryobi trimmers for $20 (total) from a guy here in Adelaide. Not working, etc etc. I got them home, put fresh fuel in them and sold them both 2 days later for $80 each. Not a bad profit!

To "just doesnt stop". I got it running, but may have too look into the throttle cable as it only runs flat out and i get no response when i move the throttle control
