I have a victa viking with 4 wheel steer it has a spicer hydrastatic transmission,it has no drive forward or in reverse.

(1) what I would like to know is where can I find the I..D code for this transaxle?

(2) I was told to put automatic transmission fluid in it, is this correct?

We need to know what model of mower it is, so we can try to find out what model of transmission it uses. Victa did not make ride-on mowers, and have used various sources over the years, as well as buying quite a lot of different models.

Most hydrostatic transmissions use multigrade engine oil, but not all of them. You need to identify the transmission.

only number I could find were below seat, 5moo3o or smoo30, and under that one was sf/cd, can't upload photos at the moment
