Hello RayRay

That's interesting.
Because Scott Bonnar were also low pressure brassware manufacturers,
they had available to them the capability of using these metals.

Yes, gold would be too heavy smile
Although Mick Bonnar did have shares in a gold mine...

All very metallurgical.

See photos of my first Supercut Cut.
I have learned three things.
(1) When Scott Bonnar says Supercut they mean SUPER CUT
(2) Setting for an inch high with a shaver blade stilllooks like a shave.
(3) Mowing when lawn is dewy makes for skidmarks when you use four and a halfhorses. to do the mowing.
(4) flatlawns aren't flat untilyou use a Supcut as a plumbline..
(5) Damn, I love my Supercut !

Hello Rarray

Yep, way-too-low for the initial cuts.
It may be that de-thatching will improve the lawn over time.
It would be great to see a photo of your machine (it must be very shy) laugh

I'm glad you love your Supercut!

Hello rayray,

So the hearsay is true. You do own a Supercut! laugh
They're great photos, and it's nice to see grass that is ... green.

Thank you for sharing your machine.

One more question. The catcher is loading very poorly, to improve the gtass throw do you adjust the deflector further up, or further forward?

Hi RayRay,

It certainly looks like your deflector is aimed low and should be a tad higher so that the grass is thrown higher and also a bit further.

BTW. It's absolutely fabulous to see another Supercut in use. There aren't that many left in circulation and especially over the ditch. Many have simply found their way into scrap metal as they weigh in at quite a bit and thus are worth a few bob as scrap I guess, especially when the price of scrap was way up there.

RayRay, could you please give us your exact model number from your ID plate that's affixed to the engine side of your machines side plate ? also have you done an engine swap on it or would you consider it to still have its original power plant ?

Cheers,
BB

Greetings Bonnar Bloke from New Zealand.

Have just popped out to the shed to read the sideplate

Mower No 17 15184

I think it is the original engine that was on it new, maybe from the early 1970's. It is a 20 inch Supercut, petrol. The catcher has been remanufactured to fit the frame, but otherwise is pretty original. Red cushion taping of handle is my own touch, original was black plasicated. I have even got the early decal on the catcher now - will post a photo tomorrow.
