G'day, I'm new to this but here goes... Have unearthed a BMS Series 10 Lawn Patrol mower 100% original, shedded, and hasn't been run for over 20 years. have cleaned carby, checked ignition (mint condition) but need plug and points settings as it wont fire up at present (spark ok). As there appear to be a number of models, mine has a vertical tube fuel tank built into the fixed, unadjustable, handle. Any help would be most welcome. Thanks

Hello wyche!

A warm welcome to the ODK forums. I'm sure we can help here.

It's great that another Lawn Patrol has been saved! These are important Australian
vintage lawnmowers that have gone under-appreciated for some time. The Boundy story is a
fascinating one that will be told in the History Forums at some point.

We would love to have some photos for our record.
How to upload photos may be found HERE.

I have a Operator Manual for the Cub but not the Patrol.
Regardless, the BMS engine settings should be the same.
The pdf document may be viewed HERE.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jack, Thanks for the info on the Lawn Cub. I shall try the ignition settings later today (hopefully), whereupon I shall be delighted if my Lawn patrol bursts into song! Just one other thing at present: I note that the manufacturer states quite firmly that 2-stroke oil should not be used; surely this is preferable to ordinary SAE 40 motor oil?
Cheers, wyche.

Hi wyche

You're right. Iny modern two stroke oil would be better suited.

Hope this helps.
