If you click Spare Parts Online link in the site links box, the one with the weatherzone in it, you will be on Outdoorking's spares page.

Sorry coolrussy was merely trying to help with a visual aid but apparently I wasn't allowed to show more than one picture.Unfortunately the better photo was removed, not my decision that.
If you get stuck let me know.I may have the rod parts (May,I think mine had bits of weld on them.Somebody's fix, just not sure if I kept them) but I am myself short of the clips.
Surely they wouldn't be hard to find.Maybe even Bunnings could have them.
Actually have to go there tomorrow I might have a look myself.

All the clips and pins are available here
https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/index.p...sort=20a&filter_id=742&view=rows
and they are pretty cheap so probably not worth hunting Bunnings for them.

I was talking about the small retainer clip to hold the rod in place. As the muffler clip isn't enough to hold the rod in place. That's why victa had the clips put in place, and that rod doesn't come with the retainer clip.
See here.

Don't wish to be unnecessarily pedantic here grin , but the muffler on a Victa 2-stroke is attached to the exhaust port on the cylinder, not the head.

What shape is the muffler? A squat 'boxy' shape, with the discharge through a hole in the deck?

Earlier Cortinas used a long forward-discharge 'torpedo' muffler.

Gadge

Okay, I just assumed he meant the main clips thinking he would already have those clips on his machine. Wouldn't a simple E clip would do the same job as that original Victa clip? Probably available from a good auto parts place.

That's what I thought you were thinking aussietrev. The problem is that retainer clip does fall off and then that's when the rod falls out.Yes your properly right about finding them at an auto shop.I didn't think of that.I didn't get to Bunnings yet, they may have them.

Bearing supply places are a great source for individual e-clips, I've found. Just take one of the pins in, so that you can get the fit right.
