Its a tidy 5 S1 ....Yes another choke and recoil starter/leaf guard maybe?, would make it a beautiful period correct model when its restored. Seemingly a very good Special Plaque also.

This was the mid 200,000 serial wasn't it?

Thanks for the measurements.

Look out for the earlier throttle control if your going for accuracy. That one is later the OE replacement controller for all models.

Plaque is a repro, Would be nice to find an original for this one. I have a few throttles so I will look through and replace it. Engine number was 269308 but the engine has been replaced with 245476 by the previous owner.

Did you buy this off the original owner? Do you mean the mower came with the original engine? or do you have the original Receipt Stating it was 269308 from new. Good score if thats the case, its good to get the history.

In anycase its still in the correct serial range.

Hi HT6,
This is the mower

https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=61466

Unimog changed the engine over because the top case was cracked around the magneto threads. I did ask if the original engine was still around but he had moved it on.

Engine is almost ready to go back together, I have fitted the new little end bush and I am waiting now for my new reamer to arrive. Once the bush is done should be smooth sailing.

Started on the base this afternoon, multi layers of paint were hard to shift. Now I am down to sanding

Cowl also had many layers of paint

Seriously rethinking this whole repainting thing, it is a shame to put paint over top of these

A glorious day and my last one of holidays, my new reamer arrived in the mail so I wasted no time in finishing the engine

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

All went together nicely, head is on loose until I time the ignition. Forecast is for rain tomorrow and Sunday so I finished cleaning up the base and applied the undercoat

Thanks, the engine is an old Budgie brand push a long that my Dad bought back from the UK in the 70's. I have a large collection of Australian O Gauge trains as well as Hornby and Bassett Lowke tinplate. This morning I pulled out the finger
