This is a very interesting and informative forum. Thanks to all involved. This is probably sacrilege to the Victa enthusiasts, but here is my 'bitsa' put together out of bits found at junk shops. Thanks to the people on this forum, I now know what all the bits are and what machines they have come from. It appears to be an 80s Utility chassis with (most of) a 125 motor from the 60s and some hand truck wheels. I expected it to last a few weeks at most, but it's still going after several years. Unstoppable.

Cheers,
Jon

Hello JonS

Welcome to these forums and thanks for sharing this most unusual
machine. There is some history of 'backyarding' or DIY mowers on
these forums and it is an art form - or should be considered so.

I hope you have given it a name - Victorbeast or The Victanator, or something.
A couple of more photos would be good for the record.

You may enjoy a story on a nice Rat Reel here:-

The poor old thing has lost a few fins and the barrel looks like someone tried to do a rebore with a bastard file. The rings are basically welded into the piston and the compression is almost non existent, yet it starts easily with the electric drill. I expected it to overheat and die on the first day, but it just keeps going. I always called it the Toecutter. The blue beast in the background is a my new Rover Colt. A whole 'nother project there...
