Picked this one up this morning, the lady told me it was from her Fathers collection and was using it up until recently

Got yourself a badge for the 3, cool.

Your finding a few mix n matches Paul.

Model 4 base, Model 5 S3 tank, cowl and pulley, model 2 axle housings and Model 5 S1 Engine.

Another good score in a few ways. Hope you got a bargain.

Find yourself an original auto, with or without Predicta set up and a Dep/export model, and with a few tweaks and corrections, youll have the whole set.

Thanks for Sharing.

Paid $50 and got it running after cleaning out the carb, happy with that. She told me her father restored old Victas and all the kids got one when he moved on. I may put it right or just give it a clean and leave it as it is.

After quite a few weeks of emails back and forth with the seller I made an over the border trip early this morning to collect this one

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

It was his Fathers mower and had been in regular use up until 12 months ago.

Not sure if the choke is right ?

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

Pulley looks good

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

I have a throttle for it but part of the plastic that retains the upper thread has broken out

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

I flushed out the tank and cleaned the fuel bowl, checked and cleaned the plug .... Fired on the first pull and ran beautifully.

Mmmmmmm....Me likey!

Late run Model 2 Rotomo Plastic wheel.

Choke is correct style, just an unmarked AM version, but good to have.

With a few missing/incorrect parts sorted it will be a little beauty.

Good score Paul, hope you got it for a good Price in the end.

Loving its an original owned. Get any paper work?

Thanks HT6. The son is still cleaning out and there are two sheds, I asked him to keep an eye out for papers and any more mowers etc. It starts and runs so well, I will leave the engine alone for now until I clear a few other jobs.

Took the flywheel off to have a look underneath and all is in very good condition, plenty of meat on the points

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

Flywheel has all of its fins just has a few nicks here and there

Looking good looks like it still has the original screws still in there.
A couple of chipped fins there on the flywheel, but still in good shape.Won't affect it's running.

Cleaned things up a bit this afternoon, had the carb off to clean it out and found the washer missing from the jet tube. This and the solder on the bottom of the float would explain why it was running rich. Found some original paint under the blue on the fuel tank and a little on the base also changed the wheels
[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

A little bit of white and a feint outline of the oil sticker on the back of the tank

I don't know wether to repaint it or not ?

yep, there's not enough paint left on it to worry about loosing the originality......i reckon at least.
