Still more paint and surface rust to remove, getting there.

Seriously rethinking this whole repainting thing, it is a shame to put paint over top of these

A glorious day and my last one of holidays, my new reamer arrived in the mail so I wasted no time in finishing the engine

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

All went together nicely, head is on loose until I time the ignition. Forecast is for rain tomorrow and Sunday so I finished cleaning up the base and applied the undercoat

What are those old looking trains in the back ground? They look old.

Thanks, the engine is an old Budgie brand push a long that my Dad bought back from the UK in the 70's. I have a large collection of Australian O Gauge trains as well as Hornby and Bassett Lowke tinplate. This morning I pulled out the finger

Cool I've never herd of that brand, but then again there's properly a lot of them I haven't herd of.I'd be interested in seeing more of them.Maybe start something in the off topics. As if it wasn't for mowers I'd most likely collect trains.I just can't do both.I use to have some trains myself, but the mowers took over.
The base has come out fantastic good work.

Doing some more on this one and looking at my spare fuel taps, I have one that I think has a cork in it as there is a screw in the tap knob. Would this be suitable to use ? It is CC branded, if not what were they used on ?

I put the cork tap aside and used the one that came off my ex-automatic

Looking Sweet Paul!

Yeah that cc tap is spot on for a 3, cork tap is more Villiers and others, not for this model or any earlier victas.

Made some good progress today, sorted out the choke and fitted the decal

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

I repainted the badge and left it to dry, today I sanded it off and fitted it. Held on at the moment by some brass screws and nuts until I source the correct fittings

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

I painted the base a few months ago but I am not taking any chances of petrol spoiling it just yet

[Linked Image from i313.photobucket.com]

Not much left now, just have to fit the handle bars.

Beautiful work Paul...

I do love the Concord decal best, and the badge looks sweet.

You found the correct CC tap in your stash to, nice.

The screws look ok. Just get some high dome 3/16 screws and half nuts from the fastener place if you want them perfect.

Your not gonna run the genuine carby, long snorkel and Smiley face choke on her?

Shes a very nice early model 3 mate, Youve done a fantastic job.

Cant wait to see the final runout smile

Hi HT6 & Vccomm,

Thanks for the comments, I have the snorkel and choke but seeing as this would spend most of the time under the bench I wanted to fit the short choke. I thought the carb was correct ? Has Victa 125 on the side, which one should it have, I have spares :-)

No worries, I have seen them with the large choke as well. I have seen old mower shop pics with them fitted. The decal came from Rustic Spares, John is a member here.

I have the picture just not sure of copyright issues, I will post a link when I find it.
