I have an old Victa Power Torque 160cc. It runs well, but it seems to stay at the same revs. sort of 70% throttle. I set the poppet at position A. recently decoked the motor, all seems OK. There is plenty of power , I recently mowed two heavy lawns 50cm high grass. It cuts so well. The throttle cable moves the gray slide. I just wanted more control over the throttle. randell

Hi Randell, Poppet valve should be set to C unless your mower is a vortex. When you say 70% do you mean it runs at the same RPM irrespective of throttle position or do you mean when you take it to full throttle it revs up momentarily and then drops back the RPM by itself. If it does the latter that is normal but a picture of the mower will help as the earlier ones are a little different to the later models.

Hi bigted, The mower had one of those rubbber rings underneath around the disk, I took it off as I don't use a catcher. I think it is a vortex. Yes it runs at 70% irrespective of throttle position. Here's a pic. randell ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/02/full-8869-20257-power_torque1.jpg) It has TUR......... on left side, maybe Turbo.... randell

Yes, it has the turbo disk, hence the rubber ring. Poppet on this model is set to A so all clear there. 70% throttle sounds about right as these are governed to 3000 RPM unlike most others which are about 3300 RPM. There is very little variation in RPM between idle and full revs so at a guess i'd say your machine is running as it should. This might help ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/02/full-6430-20275-2014_07_24_203629.png)

Thanks bigted, I mowed a friends lawn today, 3 weeks of rain in Bundaberg........... The grass was dry and I used the grinder to give a knife edge to the blades, and stay clear of the shute as I had it tied upwards. 1.5 hrs mowing... What a machine, so much power at probable 2500 to 3000rpm. And the fuel ran out as I finished the lawn................. I have it for sale on gumtree for $75 , no one wants it, they don't know what they are missing out on. The missus want me to get rid of some mowers, I need to keep two old Victas......
thanks speedy

That's the way it goes Speedy. People prefer to buy shiny, poor quality mowers rather than decent Aust made stuff. Their loss but you will sell it and you'll have one very happy customer.

To refer to the above chart re. Jet sizes....what are the sizes referring to in regards to size? mm or fractional inch. Had a go at measuring my collection of 18 assorted and couldn't determine the size definitely....
