The seller is asking $600 for this Honda Twin Cylinder Ride On. It has a dud alternator but all else appears good. Is it worth the $600 and what is an alternator likely to cost? If not worth $600, what do people think would be a fair price?

The alternator will cost you the proverbial arm leg first male born.

As for the eternal question, when new that mower cost more than some small cars.
An excellent mower.
Honda abandoned the ride on market because they just did not understand how price sensitive the mower market was so they were always doubel the price of all the others.
If you just want a cheap ride on, go for it as it has a mechanical PTO so ony needs the alternator to recharge the battery.
The alternator will be about 2/3 the local price ( including shipping ) from the USA but finding discount Honda dealers is a bit of a PIA.
Honda motors of course were used in every thing and genuine Honda parts will be available.

Good mower...might be worth charging the battery with a wall charger when not in use

just hook it up to a solar panel when not in use [like most people with any sense do to a boat]
untill you can get an alternator.
or just use a cheap jumpstarter pack as your battery [it works my father in law done it once]

Cheers, Emmo

is it beer-o-clock yet
