Hi all

I have a Victa Commando V35 2 stroke mower. I bought it refurbished around 20 years ago. For the last 19 years it has started first time every time. Brilliant! Now, in the last few weeks, I can still start it, but after around 10-15 seconds, it cuts out. Just stops entirely. The other thing worth noting is that it doesn't seem to be able to achieve full power. When it was going (before it began cutting out) it cut the grass but only on about half power).

I am more than prepared to acknowledge the good life this one has had and let it go. It's served me well. However, I thought I'd ask whether this sort of thing is something fairly easy to take care of. If it is, it's a good mower and I'll happily keep it going for as long as it wants to.

You just have to check things first.Things like making sure the air filter is clean and not blocked. It is harder to diagnose when not in front of me,but the first I'd check is carby make sure it is clean and the needle and set are in good working order.Make sure the cut off hasn't worm through it's rubber boot and shorting out. Also check the fuel cap there should be a small hole make sure that's not blocked or it will get vapour lock and that will stop it.So check cap first then the carby.
That's were I'd start looking first.
Here what they have inside them.

Hope this helps.
