G'day, I am a new member and have been checking out the site. (I love it!). I have an old 45 reel and have found info on that one but I also have an old 320 mulch/mower that I would like to find out more about. Can anyone help with info?

What info are you after? The 320 series was basically SB's Utility range to the 520 and 720 series. They always reminded me of toy mowers or lightwights, despite their claims of them being a Sturdy workhorse and sporting the 4hp BS on the Nomad. Very basic and simple design just what you would expect from a utility.
3 models that Im aware of,
Demon 3.5 BS Base model Nomad 4.0 BS Multicut 3.5 BS Mulcher
Other than this, I dont know much more about the...I should have a brochure with the dates and model codes in my mess, if no one else puts it up ill dig them out.
I wont use the term rare, but They dont come up for sale often. Others may have some in their collections and know more, but really what you see is about it.

If you put the engine no from the cowling up, The BS Gurus will give you date of manufacture. ..Which im sure will be around 1980 approx.... ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2014/12/full-5599-19119-2014_12_14_21.09.35.png) There is currently a base model demon on ebay you might want to check out.

Great, thanks mate. It's exactly the type of info I am after. I couldn't find anything on the 320. Mind you I am rubbish on the internet searching. I picked the 320 up in the early nineties 2nd hand and it was fantastic for me on a big block until I got established. It wasn't great on the lawns when I got them in so it retired to the shed for the last 15 plus years, but it was a beast on a small paddock. I really liked it. I am not too many years from retiring (I hope) and I am lining up a few projects, this will be one of them if it's worth saving. I appreciate your response, cheers.

Hi Nyasaland, and a warm welcome to the forum. It is always nice to welcome another Scott Bonnar onboard, as we all like to learn new things and tinker here. As Blue has said, we can give you the date of manufacture of your Briggs, plus other information if you can post the complete string of numbers stamped into the air cowling....What we need is in 3 groups....the Model, Type and Code Info on the Scott Bonnar rotaries is fairly thin on the ground, we are always looking for further info for our History Forum and archives. Once again, to OutdoorKIng.
Please do not PM me asking for support. Please post your questions in the appropriate forums, as the replies it may receive may help all members, not just the individual member. Kindest Regards, Darryl

Hi Nyasaland,
The sticker is the Model no, which you know is 320 series. The Numerical sequence is the Serial no. So its the 14,861st built, assuming this series started at 0 like most models.
The code tells us the Engine manufacture is June 16 1980. Also as youve worked out its a 3.5 hp 4 stroke, which is correct per the diagram for your Mulcher Mower.
The Model no 92908 will help you when buying parts for the engine
The Mower Model no 320004 will help with mower parts also..
Thats about it, A few more snippets of info can be found in the Type" and last 2 digits in the Code"sequence...But its not so much relevant to your restoration.
If you need help with parts and restoration or any technical info, Moderators Grumpy' And Deejay are the B&S and Scott Bonnar Gurus who can answer your questions...:)
Some pictures of both your machines, when your able will also be appreciated:) .

Thanks for the edit Grumpy. Regarding the rebuild on these, is there a recommended spare parts dealer? I am probably not ready to start on them time wise but i wouldn't mind gettting my ducks in a row for when I am.
Cheers.

Outdoorking includes an on-line store, and naturally that is what we recommend. Essentially it has good prices but there is a minimum shipping charge, so it works pretty well if you are buying stuff in batches rather than one part at a time. If you click on the "Spare Parts Online" link in the left column near the top of the page, you can take a look and see whether it works for you.
