Hi Everyone,

I am new to the forum and have recently purchased a Rover 45 on ebay. This was a recondiotoned unit and is an unbelievable machine and cuts my couch lawn like the SCG.

I have recently had to replace the thrust pad which I have done with no problems. Just wanted to know if anyone knows the age of this machine and engine.

Rover 45 Model 45058 serial number 4008208.
Engine is Briggs and Stratton Model 091212, Type 1025E1, Code 0006093A, Family YBSXS.1481HH 274459.

If that Code is correct, the engine was made on 9 June 2000. If it is the original engine, that would suggest the mower was built late in 2000.

If the thrust pad wore out or melted, the clutch operating mechanism in the center of the drive shaft may be in need of adjustment. The pad should not be touching the clutch when the clutch is engaged.
