Hi guys I recently picked myself up a SB 45 which came in great nick apart from the paint and engine not running, after cleaning the carby and tank out she ran fine..
Both cutter reel and bed knife where in top shape... Until this afternoon I picked up a roof screw which jammed between the cylinder and bed knife, after the screw was removed and many swear words later I'm left with a slightly bent blade with a nick in it and a small nick in the bed knife.. Any tips in fixing the bent reel blade??

Hi Izrobboau, and my commiserations on that bit of bad luck. I had the same happen to me when a screw fell off the machine whilst mowing. cry

What you need to do is remove the reel and soleplate, complete with the bedknife attached and take both to the engineer/machinist that sharpen them...and ask his advice. It can be fixed. wink

Instruction for removing the reel and soleplate can be found HERE

Please let us know how you get on.
cheers

Thanks deejay I thought that might have been the answer, I've managed to straighten it a little and remove the bur off the blade, so I think cause the rest of the reel is in perfect condition I'll leave it be until the reel could do with a sharpen and get it fixed then..
I have a local guy that is a professional that I'm going to take my rover 45 to get straightened/ sharpened so I'll take it to him to see what he could do when I take the other one down, cheers mate..
