I'm sure you know that Victa didn't build ride-ons, they bought them from US manufacturers. In the early days it seems to have been MTD, and more recently Murray (there may have been others as well somewhere along the way). I'm told the 16-42 is an MTD 990, and they certainly look the same in general pictures. Here is a rather large set of manuals for it:

The MTD 990 seems to be quite a decent garden tractor, not just a mower - see videos:






The second one brings back memories of my first attempt to drive the (full-sized industrial) front loader/backhoe I used to have, but I refuse to believe I was ever as inept as that guy.

Do your research as a lot of those older large frame ride ons were hydro and had a hydraulic rock shaft arrangement that would lift the deck and also a front mounted blade or a 3PL on the back.


Not going you would get $400+ for such a machine.


Even if it doesnt, a decent big machine like that is worth having. Pity im so far away.
