Hi all. I'm new to the forum & so I'm not sure if this specific issue has been discussed before.
I have just given my old Victa 160 commando a spruce up. I never split the motor tho.
I fitted a new plug, a new primer plate & I cleaned & re-furbished the starter motor & fitted new blades and checked the decomp valve is working properly. All basic stuff. I also removed the coil & set the gap to the crank triggers at .005"
My issue is that it doesn't seem to want to rev as high as I'd expect & it also doesn't idle well at all. I'm not familiar with the carburettor on it either. It's a plastic carb. There are two wires running to it which I'm not sure of their purpose either.
Any advice or information would be appreciated.

Hi Aaron

Have you cleaned out and checked the carburettor while you were changing the primer plate? If you have that's good, just check that its assembled properly. There is a idle screw on the air filter housing below your throttle control, undo the screw and it should be able to slide up and down thus adjusting the idle, this in turn should assist in giving you more revs.

The two wires you are talking about are for the kill switch set up.
