Hi All,
My first post in a long time.
I have owned this Victa for about 8 years.Bought it second- hand,with only low hours done.It's been a very reliable mower,& I want to do some regular maintenence on it.
Anyone know what model it is? Do these mowers have an ID stamped on the chassis?
I have a minor issue with the throttle control.I can move to a higher throttle setting & not get much reaction.Also when I lower the revs,it won't shut engine down.Is this a cable or carb issue?Mower is working OK,but not 100%.
Also,what is the round,grey screw type control for?

These mowers are the very common sort. They all look the same with different names an different engine covers an pull starts. The common name is victa commando but for parts its the common 160cc full crank engine an carby is g4/lm. With the revs I would say pull carby apart give it a clean and reinstall the throttle cable. With it not shutting off check the two kill wires coming out of the carby the rubber boots might be worn an may not be working. Or even wen reinstallin throttle cable may fix that issue to.
With that grey dial im not to sure as thats on the older mowers it may have something to do with revs maybe but iam not sure on that one.

Nathan that is for your idle speed adjustment. Newer powertorque engines with the LM carby do not have any idle adjustment. That is why sometimes (not very often) you have to install special idle washers in the carby to idle them down....

Carby is about it really. Other then spark plug, blades etc

Its a 1983/84 craftsman standard one of the last with the full crank engine before they switched over to the power torque
