Dare I get my hopes up....Read the colour range and quantities available. Gonna give em a call tommorrow, dont hold out much hope as i ring Galmet periodically for Avocado spray as im sick of mixing up for the gun and the cost is ridiculous at around 50-60 a litre and its still a discontinued colour and not kept in stock. Prays to the paint gods Galmet have finally seen reason to make Victa special restorers lives easier lols. Also Found an alternative brand/colour which is very similar, gonna try it out soon if it comes up good ill post the links for both. http://www.warburtons.com.au/p-749-galmet-hammered-metal-finish.aspx

Lets all live in hope, as you say, preasure packs are convenient for small jobs as you end up spending more time cleaning up the gun than you do painting and you dont have to worry about moisture in the can.
If you dont make a mess you aint making anything.

vccomm, I have tried all the paint shops around my area and none of them recon they can do the hammertone in a spray can, even the Auto paint supplier that normally mixes me up some car colours for small jobs, I was a bit peeved as the spray cans they do, spray very close to a spray gun, pity all pressure packs did not spray as well. $110 for 7 cans is not that dear, 4 liters of enamel thinners is close to $30 and I must wash in the stuff as it does not seem to last long

Sighs, ive tried everything VC...bought galmet had two places match it, its never the same and a pain to source, also used Phoenix for a good match but second time round they stuffed it One reason I no longer restore specials. The only sure thing in this world is death and Wattle KR Deep brunswick green, thank god for the latter! Gonna check out one more brand that appears close. Anyways rang the company listed they rang galmet and of course its still a no go. 1 litre to order only still. I did ask what the minimum order would be for them to can a batch, hes gonna get back to me if its 100 might be doable, id reakon it would be more like 1000 units. ..oh well one day they may have enough people annoy them to make it worth while. Ill try your path once VC as im sure motorspray and motorpro still make up cans on request thanks mate.

I'm not a big fan of spray cans, I find them too inconsistent and they're prone to splattering and ruining the job. I agree that getting the gun out for a small job isn't really practical so I use one of those little Preval aerosol sprayers. You still have to mix/thin the paint yourself but the spray nozzle is much more consistent and gives a nicer spray. The little jars that screw on to the aerosol also double as storage if you don't use all the paint in one go. Not a bad compromise I reckon

Hopefully my next try will bear fruit as my last of these models to paint in avocado will be my auto....:)

Blue, see how you go with minimum order as I would chuck in to get some, and Im sure others would make up the numbers.

Hey there Rolla, I just googled the Preval and look a good little unit, what store do you buy yours from in Aus or do you buy from US? I noticed it on the shelf of a local paint place one day and decided to give it a try. They're a local Sunshine Coast business, so not much help to you down there in Tas my friend
