G'day fellas. I picked up a couple of +040 rings that are supposed to fit a 125cc on a Victa Special I'm rebuilding. The anti rotation pins on the old piston grooves are round/semi-circular, but the rings I've bought have square cut notches. They look like they may just fit, but I doubt they will provide adequate compression. My question is, are there multiple styles of rings for Victa 125cc engines, and will the rings I have work with the piston I have?

Yup Chinese am are different.there are a few brands that differ. I grind the square to suit.carefully of.course. only oother option is older am rings come up now and then or genuine NOS again if you can wait till they come up. Other option new piston will suit the am rings you bought(square peg). Yup its getting harder to re use sh pistons but always a a way around it. See how ya go and easy on the grinder as it only takes a minute amount to get the arc.

Cheers Blue! I'll give grinding them down a shot and hope it doesn't impact the compression too much. Homer up in Newcastle has some but as usual, he's asking a crazy amount for them. For the price of one set from him, I should be able to find a new piston..

Theres still plenty of stuff around Unk, pick up what you can when you can....from reputable sellers ha ha.....ooops is this a public forum? Gasps* good luck unkie:)

I got a cheap set of brand new model 5 wheels and hubcaps from him once, only because the wrong label got put on my parcel. Somone else got a crappy old victa catalogue that I paid $7 for.
