Thats crazy money.
Im gunna get my spare running and list it up quick smart.
Followed by the other one with the catcher.
I did see the lightweight on there minus catcher. Just happen to have a catcher here. Wonder if i could 'value add'

I must agree it is a lot, I would not have paid more than $30 myself. I suppose they aren't making any more though. They seem to have a bit of a cult following, I think. This will make them more popular. I noticed in the questions in the listing, a couple of people wanted the mower freighted to them. If selling one this may help get top dollar if you are willing to drop it off at a courier they choose.

I missed the pic of the catchers, makes a little bit more sense now. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/01/full-4181-4771-kgrhqjhjcie7y8wfcobpbs6itq60_3.jpg) And the questions, Q: Hi could you please describe the condition of both the catchers ( damage / cracks etc) . Do they both fit the 500 twin chassis? 07-Jan-12 A: Both catchers are still in working order but are not in fantastic condition. The Brown catcher has a crack in the side and the top handle is missing, but it still attaches fine and catches as usual. The red catcher has a metal plate repair on one side and also on the lower lip, but also still attaches fine and catches as usual. i used buth right up until I stripped the mower down to change the rings and found that I couldn't get any spare rings. Regards, David
Q: Hi David, I see that you are prepared to ship overseas. I have bid and I live in Sydney. Will you ship to Sydney please? regards Mark 06-Jan-12 A: Mark, I can ship to anywhere you like. Also, if you want to reduce shipping costs, I can dispose of what ever you don't want freighted (such as one or both of the catchers). What ever you like. Couriers please can move the items at your additional cost once I box them up for you. I have a Logistics background so I can pack the for safe transport no problems. Regards, David I love the bit about not sending the catchers. Makes me wonder what a running twin with a very good catcher would be worth. And then a spare mower with no catcher that runs as well. Thoughts anyone???

It's a hard one to predict Bob, somtimes I see a twin in good conditon, with a catcher, and think to myself "That's going to go well" only to see it pull a much lower price than expected, othertimes, I see one that I dont even think is sellable, and it hit's the jackpot (so to speak)
I would get them all cleaned up, take some nice photo's, and pop the pic's up here, to see if we can't help you work out a ballpark figure.
It's a hard game to predict, but if you put it up for a decent amount of time, to get pleanty of attention (the last few minutes are what count, but the longer the listing, the more people will be there at the end) with good, clear pictures, and a little detail, you should be able to get a good price for it all.
Cheers Ty

[Censored] that's is pricey.I got my first twin for $200 going (not a great goer, still needs some work) with fantastic catcher.Got my second Twin for $49.Properly would have gone if it wasn't for a missing muffler.I certainly wouldn't have paid that much for one like that.
Here for a good time, not a long time.

I got mine for $25 each, one with catcher one without.
See how i get on. I did give em a quick clean. Need to get them some table time to see if i can get them going. Im starting to get a bit of a collection here, time to get all hard arse and loose the sentiment. But then i might keep them all for another 12 months and do the rounds on the swap meet circle next year with a heap of working old Victas.

Seem's allot like mine to, after a bit of effort, off she goes, but then soon after, out like a light.
I think I'm dealing with ignition troubles, specifically and intermittent or weak rear spark!
Common with the twin.
Cheers Ty

Just curious about how much the second one went for? Also I think the buyer is on here looking for some rings in the 'wanted' section, if anyone knows this.

A few years ago I won a job lot of 4 mowers on ebay for 99c, had to travel about 45 minutes to get to sellers place. When I got there I saw that one of the mowers was a large Victa (I hadn't come across a Twin for quite some time, so I'd forgotten what they immediately looked like). Got them all home, unloaded and then thought this cowl is pretty long for a Victa, it was a Victa Twin with catcher. Took it apart, compression and spark in both cylinders was good, overall in very good shape so did the usual pre start servicing and away she went, ran perfectly, I didn't have to spend a cent on this one, I did in later years because I stripped it down and restored it, it now looks even better, managed to get a Compact and a Lightweight as well later and gave them the same treatment. Managed to pick up a near new grass catcher for the Twin about 6 months ago for $20. I reckon I did ok!
