Cheers guys, going to have to take the badge off and put it away, They are so easy to knock around its not funny. The couple that gave me the mowers actually featured on episode 8 of "aussie pickers", they are just like in real person as they are on tv

Hi Michael, no mate, it is not the original engine on that machine....IMO that engine could be off a Scott Bonnar Model 720 (72104); a Model 520 (520022) or a Model 420 'Huntsman' (420400) Check them out HEREThat engine was manufactured on the 14th August 1975.

Thanks Darryl, I was suspicious when I looked at it, but I questioned the owner and he assured me it was original. The first thing I checked was the DOM and it seemed about right for the age of the mower. I might keep the engine for now and get rid of the mower. I wouldn't mind having a Scott Bonnar rotary to match my SB45 though Thanks again for your help mate

That Briggs 92908 was in my opinion possibly their nicest small engine ever, prior to the OHV models. Note however that being pre-1982, yours will have breaker-point ignition. Also, while its automatic choke is a key factor in making it start and run so well, it does require you to read the manual before you try to re-attach the carburetor to the fuel tank, or the choke will not work properly.

The chainsaw is currently on ebay with a bid of $50, I have no time or interest for it.
The two 4 strokes will be sold to whoever wants one at $50 each, they go good, blow a little smoke on startup but I cant be bothered tarting them up anymore when noone locally wants an older mower when you can get a chonda mower at masters for $99 with warranty now.
The model 5, i hope to get running shortly, probably today we'll see.

That M5 Victa is an awesome find, just for the air filter, badge and emblem throttle control, even if it turns out to just be a parts source, it covers sone of the hardest parts for a good model 5 restoration, absolutley wonderful.
The chainsaw looks eather interesting, i know you don't plan o keep it, but could you give it a thread in chainsaws with a few good shots and anything you know or can read in it? I would love to get some info together on it.
Cheers Ty
