Well after searching and searching the Twin,Lightweight, compact and electric family is now complete. So it goes: 500 Twin series I 170cc 500 Twin series II 170cc Supreme Twin (Green) 170cc Supreme Twin (Gold) 170cc Lightweight 85cc Compact 85cc 400 Electric 400 Electric Fairlight Here's some family photos. The whole gang together 500 Twin Series I 500 Twin Series II Supreme Green Supreme Gold (Unfortunately I haven't got a catcher.Hopefully I will find one) Lightweight Compact 400 Electric 400 Electric Fairlight I've got some work ahead of me to restore all these.I just a few in front of these before I get that far.Although I have started of the first Twin but haven't got to far with that yet. They will look much better when that has been done.
Yes thanks Peter I've already stuck my bid on it. I also asked him to check the measurements just to make sure it is right as the VC-Mustangs had a black replacement catcher that looked exactly the same. So better to make sure first. Bigted I thought I was the black sheep.
Very Impressive Collection Blumbly...It Satisfying when you can complete the Set. Seems you got plenty of room up there. Im stuck on a measly 500 SQM with my shed being the only place anything would fit....But its already FULL GRRRR. Think its time to sell the HT to make more room....lols.
Your right there it makes one feel great when a part of the collection is complete. I'm not too sure I have heaps of space though. The mower doesn't have much floor space anymore, and part of the garage you can't walk in anymore to many mowers in there.I need some pallet racking now. That would solve my problem with it.
Thanks gizmo. It's funny as when I was looking at the twin I was up and down about getting just one twin, but after I got the first one I just had to learn more. Then when I discovered that there was two different types of the first twin I just had to have them all.Now look at them.I have the whole family. That I know of anyway.Maybe there is more.
Blumbly you are a weapon, I thought you would of had to of had pallet racking well before now unless you have a monster shed or sheds but seriously on completing the family, Blue dont you dare even contemplate getting rid of your HT as I have two mates with them (Monaro) done up to original and they are a great looking car, just wish I still had the one I trashed when I was younger, also wish I had my SS hatch, Oh well, no not Oh well, I'm still pissed
No,no pallet racking yet. Although I think I have found some. I do have a bit of room. Check one of my threads I think it's called I'll show mine if show yours. I have found out that catcher on eBay is from a twin. Hopefully I can end up owning it. The gold twin needs it and then the family is really be complete.
Wooohooo got the Gold Twin running this afternoon and it seems to run quite well.I will take a video of it running tomorrow and let you have a look and see at it.
Got myself a catcher for the gold twin. Only problem was it cost me more to freight it than what paid for it. Will put some pictures up when it arrives. It isn't the chocolate brown one its the black one, which could mean it was a replacement catcher. Which I'd say it is as it came of an orange twin.
Hey blumbly. sounds like a regular single cylinder victa mower on the video? do they sound like that?was wondering how they actually sound and run compared to a single? bazz
If my collection is complete ( then how come i keep buying stuff ? ) 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Yeah gizmo I don't know what it is with YouTube, but ever since they have put this feature to try and take shacking out it seems to bugger the sound up. To answer your question they do sound different in fact quite awesome. You can actually hear the flywheel spinning as it pushes the air around. They also have very little vibration when they run.I guess it's hard to explain how they really sound, except awesome. The catcher has now been picked up from Wodonga so hopefully will get it next week. Can't wait to see it altogether. Yes I am enjoying vccomm.I guess when you search for something for so long and then find it......well it's great that's all I can say.
Thanks newlifemowers, but I don't need or want that one I have one complete and one and a half in bits. While I was away I also found myself a catcher for the gold twin. Looks so much better now. It's not the original chocolate brown catcher it is the replacement black catcher so it can be classed as original.I properly will paint it when I restore it.
Hi, this looks like an old thread so I am wondering if all these mowers got restored, is there a family shot to come of the restored Group, I have the two Orange models and the Gold but the Green still eludes me. If you are still answering questions on this topic how did you go about repairing the plastic grille on the Brown cover? I have the same problem but just a tad worse. I was thinking of cutting in new ones and securing them with Ferite powder, copper wire and super glue. then brown spray paint with flatting base added. Did the Gold Twin actually have a Gold Colour Catcher? Graeme
Unfortunately member Blumbly finished up on here quite some time ago and as such left many threads incomplete and hanging.
That's sad for many newer members that have a strong interest in Victa's as that's pretty much what he specialised in. He was a big fan of the VC era machines and had many restored and non restored examples stacked on a custom made rack which is pictured here somewhere on this vast forum.
So in finishing I guess my advice is for you to not hold your breath for an outcome on this one as it just aint going to happen.
Cheers, BB.
I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.
