I seen this in a blokes shed that I bought a Victa model 4 & JAP engine off, I seen this sitting on his bench & asked if I could check it out & take a couple of pictures of it, he told me his fater in law made it as an exact replica, the detail is unbelivable, he said the back wheels alone took 3 months each to make, each of the tread plates are riveted on (old type) and the front ones are screwed on, it's a pitty I could not put up the high resolution photo so you could zoom in and have a real close look because this is superb, he said he has the trailer for it to that used to be towed by it and carried the coal, and yes this thing works! I did not bother asking if he would sell it, as I dont think I could have been able to afford it if he did, what do you all recon about it as it blew me away.

Hi jonesy, what a ripper mate....that is a genuine scale model of a 'traction engine'. They were extensively used in road works in the early days, and most Councils had one or two of them....some have been installed in parks for the kids to play on.....

"Traction engine" that's the name I could not think of at the time of posting. Thanks Deejay. Can you change the name of the post?
The sad part about it is most. If not all have had to be removed from parks because of OH&S.

What a ripper! I can't imagine how many hours were spent putting it together. That kind of skill and dedication is rarely seen these days!
