Hi all had a murray with a briggs 10 hp with a few electrical probs.turn the key and nothing happens but when i bridge the solenoid starter kicks in a spins motor.also have an intermittent spark at the plug ...very dirty mag and coil were cleaned up to no avail ... any help much appreciated cheers

What model Murray is it? We may be able to find the wiring diagram, and trace the problems in an orderly way.

buggered solenoid and coil with no ohms !!

Sounds like one of your safety switches to me, one in the seat, one on the brake/clutch pedal, and one on the engage/disengage for the cutting blaDES, thats were I would start.
