McCulloch Super 300Brushcutter

Have been given a McCulloch Super 300Brushcutter. Having trouble starting. Would appreciate any copies of Operations Manual &/or assistance.
Trouble appears to be with choke/throttle - it starts when choke fully open, revs up very fast then cuts out. If choke closed it will not start?

Try changing the fuel filter in the tank first.
