I have a McCulloch 282 Eager Beaver gas trimmer. It ran fine until one day there was some loud banging comming from the flywhell area and then it just quit. I dismantled the trimmer and found that the ignition module had made contact with the flywheel. I reset the module away from the flywheel using a folded dolar bill, but alas there is not spark now. How can I test the module to see if it is still good?
I tried to order a new module but the Lawn and Tractor parts store said the company went out of business. I asked them if there is another company that can match a part but there were no help. Could someone please tell me how to check my module and if need be where I can order one?
