Hi fends, and a warm welcome to the forum. It's always great to have another Scott Bonnar owner on board. You have received the correct advice; parts for the Model 40 are very thin on the ground, however I will send you a private message (PM) I may be able to help you source the clutch part you require. Just have a look for the flashing envelope next to 'My Stuff' in the top toolbar and have a look in 'My Messages' Once again fends, to OutdoorKing
Please do not PM me asking for support. Please post your questions in the appropriate forums, as the replies it may receive may help all members, not just the individual member. Kindest Regards, Darryl

Hi everyone, how'd you go sourcing the rubber clutch drive? I'm working on a Model 40 at the moment, and this part is stuffed...

Hi Benny,
Unless you can manufacture one up yourself you won't find one anywhere for sale as the Model 40 just isn't serviced by any parts manufacturer, due to no volume requirement.
Cheers, BB.

There's a lot more interest in the model 40 these days, you can get the original roller revulcanised with fresh rubber.

Yes I know that, but that's not original and that can be done to any machine. It's simply a process that's applied and definitely not something I'd endorse personally as it changes the angle of attack with the bedknife.
There are no consumables available or the Model 40 apart from generic bearings and bottom blades which are made up to suit. See how you'd go obtaining a bearing carrier or something unique to the 40.

Sorry I should have been more specific, there are a couple of companies now offering to revulcanise the model 40 clutch roller. This solves the Achilles heel of the model 40.
