As far as I know, no parts are available but there are several after market cutting heads that work very well out there, let me know if you need help with it.
Bill, Thanks for the info. I thought that might be the case but my local shops haven't been much help. Do you know of an online store where I can get one? Or can you give me the name of the aftermarket ones so I can give the guy at the store a little more to go on?

The brand i use and recommend is the Kwik Loader, the one you need is the KL450 with the KL30 adapter for Mac, total cost is about $30 but it will do the job well.
We still carry original McCulloch parts here as long as they have not been discontinued. The spring is NLA, the head assy is in stock #300639 $28.54. mowerparts@aol.com
