Hey, I was just wondering if there is a complete model List of Victa Model numbers and details availiable. If not I would be happy to compile the data in one spreadsheet if the info is out there. ??

good point Rusty.ute. have asked the same Qs myself. the people on this site are excellent and quick to respond with details of engine numbers etc, but a detailed log of them for us to peruse would make life a bit simpler. after all if we have to keep asking the questions from the people whos knowledge comes from within, then maybe that information will be lost forever in time . this site could be the holy grail database for the future of all our old mower information. i know that trying to backtrack and find posts containing vital information takes time and effort. and so i eventually give up . which brings me to a vital point. i too am in need of some number info. already done a search for model 2a engine numbers. came up blank. so i will put up a post up aksing my question. so far i can id only a few models and thats fom the posts ive put on asking Qs here? so hope you could do a database of sorts. would be awesome.cheers bazz
If my collection is complete ( then how come i keep buying stuff ? ) 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Hi guys, I know this is frustrating, but unless the guys with the knowledge share it on this site...we are all in the dark...This is not only confined to early Victa...it reaches right across the board....We are very lucky that a lot of our members share info....and how good is that...but some play their cards close to their chest...and that is their option...It makes us check other options and do research..and that is a good thing! But the best part; asking questions (as Forest Gump would put it) is like a box of chocolates.....you never know what you're gonna get!!

Unfortunately your right Deejay,The real old timers will NOT share any info,we assume its because of 2 reasons, they are the type of personality who likes to hold things over others, for what gain im unclear,an/or they dont really have any idea and are just big noting themselves. We do learn and we dont always get it right, but with a few heads we often come up with an answer for most issues. Recording as much info as possible is important. I dont mind saying I left another site simply because of this reason. To many hidden agendas too much bickering over petty information, leading to little or no accurate information as the outcome...Ive not once been belittled or Pfft at O'King For offering an opinion or asking a question....I cannot say the same for the other:) Only so many times you can be questioned or shot down for presenting seemingly accurate info.... Anyways Ive had my rant. I'm very happy to be part of Outdoor king and have found it invaluable in ALL aspects of mowers marine and small engines. NOT JUST VINTAGE MOWERS

Many thanks for your thoughts there Mal, and well said mate! You have shared your knowledge and helped many members here with accurate info and answered their questions promptly; which is much appreciated but us all. OutdoorKing is building some very useful archives and with your help; maybe we could, with the members who are interested, compile a list of all the Victa models with corresponding production numbers (where known) which would be helpful for future researchers and restorers. What are your thoughts?

I guess this leads us to a valid argument. this site is currently in the process of trying to correctly identify the order of the sheerline models. when the answer is finally found? WILL IT BE ABLE TO BE FOUND AGAIN ON THIS SITE after the topic has died down. unless you find the exact post of the exact question your looking for it does take fairly hefty bit of tracking through many postings till you find an answer ( thats if you dont give up 1st) so a database would be awsome? The real old timers will NOT share any info, If we keep asking questions and incorrectly speculating on what may be the correct details. then we may just coax a few of them old timers to give a reply. i know it would frustrate me to the point where i would have to share my knowledge (if i had the answers)and stop all the speculations with the truth.

good one Blumbly. there is is another question that i cant really find a straight answer to as well. As to whether the model 2 bases wheel and axle holders are the wider ones or the narrower ones. i am sure you answered this before ,but i cant find the post? i think there was some controversy over that question as well.
i am not sure how to correctly do a search, as i have typed every concievable question in the search engine like Model 2 ..bases, etc etc.no luck. not even close .i just give up using the search engine. cheers bazz

I'm not quite sure what your asking as you only mentioned model 2 bases, but I'm thinking you are asking about the axle brackets that are welded to the base.If so there were two different's in the thickness of these brackets. That was on the Model 1 Rotomo's,but not all of those and I believe the model 3 had the same as well, but again I'm not sure they all did.As I was told (So may not be fact) that Victa had two manufactures of those bases. If that's not what you were asking then sorry.I just didn't fully understand.

Now in future, If access to Victa model numbers and engine numbers is needed, I may be able to look up the information at work on the Briggs site. That is if the details are stil available.
I may be able to help in this regard.

The higher axle brackets would be either a Model 1 Rotomo or a model 3.They were the only two bases that had the bigger axle bracket size. The model 2 and 2a had the smaller more common size that we are used to seeing. This one would be the Model 1 & Model 3 bases only. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/05/full-5048-10983-nut_001.jpg) These are the more common ones we see.For Model 1,2,2a.I'm not entirely sure if there were model 3 with this smaller size.I've only had 2 model 3's and both had the larger brackets. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/05/full-5048-10984-nut_009.jpg) I hope this helps.I'm sure it does, now you have to remember that there is nothing about this on paper, but this has come from about 3 to 4 collectors experience, not just my own.As I have found this to be correct as well.
