Picked up this victa utility last night to. Its seen better days. Its got a height adjuster that I gavnt come across yet. The base has rust holes an cracks. Snorkel, muffler and engine cowlings missing. The fly wheel is rooted. I have another utility similar so might make one out of the two. But does anyone know what knd of engine cowlings this one would of had? Thanks nathan
Well nathan as far as what cowl goes on it,it could be a few as these bases and engines where used on about three different models. Here let me show you. This one has had somebody change the muffle but the base has the slot for the muffler to go through. Also the handles had been modified,I have put them back the way they should be.This picture was taken before that work was done.Have a look at the engine see what model and year it is. That may help into finding out what it should be.
Then yes check the starter cup and the starter.Just make sure the the two pieces of metal (on the starter.Sorry can't remember what there called tonight)are throwing out and grabbing the starter cup.Sometimes they do wear and or don't throw out. That could be the problem.Make sure the starter cup is the same size for the starter. There are a couple of different sizes.
Yea tomorrow ill check those things. Cause I could use the cup off the engine that cowl come off cause when on the other engine it was turning it over.
