Hi everyone, I am looking for some parts for my Victa Vc Mustang. For restoration. I think 1975.
I'll post pictures if needed

-Good condition plastic cowl. With original screws and plastic inserts would be great.
-Some wheels with hub caps.(one front one rear)
Edit: I forgot I need new stickers all round. I can't find any on eBay or other sites. If none is to be found, I will make my own.

Any other parts people don't want, or if you have a complete used mower that is laying around (same model) I would appreciate. Thank you.

Hi James, and a warm welcome to the forum. It would be good to post some pics of your machine, it will allow us to correctly identify the model, so that our members may keep their eye out for the correct parts.
Instructions for uploading pics can be found HERE
One again, :welcome: to OutdoorKing.

Although this is not my mower, it is the exact same one. It has the 160cc mark IV engine.
If anyone has the parts I require, could you let me know please.
Or even better if you have a mower I can use for parts, that would be good.
(the screws I was talking about are the ones that screw the cowl to the base, and the white plastic inserts that bite into screw).

Thanks.

That one you will find should be around the 1978 mark it has the plastic G4 carby and no there are no stickers around for them. Also what sort of screws do you want for the cowl? ie ones that are the original or ones that look close?I will have a look if I have a spare cowl, but I don't think I do.

Thanks for your quick reply blumbly and vccomn. I'm keeping the mower 100% original so I am looking for the original screws with the inserts.
I have a cowl but its got a few holes with missing fins. With a spare one I can fix the original. But I am still missing the screws and inserts.

Just a question for u guys...I am getting the paint for the base custom mixed on Thursday, Was the original paint a hammertone? I don't think it is.

Yeah. Id love a close up of a finished project. That would be great. Is there any other information on the paint i should know? Or is it just a matter of getting the green matched up with the cowling colour and getting it in hammertone?

I wouldn't colour match to the cowl as plastic fades different to paint on metal. If you take the engine of the base there should be a good match under there. That's where I'd colour match to. It is hammertone. You have to find a good paint shop,so they can alter there paint a little. I've been to some paint places and got told "no we can't change it. That is how they are. " There places that will. Good luck.

Thats funny as i have the mower stripped down and ready for painting with most of the paint stripped off the base lol.
Thanks for your help anyway.

No one has a spare cowl sitting around? I also need the black plastic bit that the starter rope passes through.

Well James good luck on both of those items.Properly the two hardest parts to find. After finding about 10 Mustangs since collecting I've only ever found one of those black pieces. So they are hard to find.I guess they do fall off easily.

Alright. Sorry to bump an old post.
Since I started this thread I have acquired some mowers push mowers. I am in no need for a spare cowling or screws. Only item is still require is the black plastic part that pushes into the dress cowling, like mentioned in the previous post.

If anyone has this item I would geatly appreciate it as this is the final thing I need to complete the mower.

Are you talking about the piece to block the hole where the starter cord goes? If so good luck very very hard to find as most just fell off.

James I have some good news in regards to the item you are chasing.I've just had a look through my VC-Mustang bits and pieces (Now don't get to excited yet),and found that I now have enough of those black starter pieces. So now if I find another one (which could happen) it now has your name on it.I didn't think I had enough but it turns out I do.So let the search begin.

I now have four.As the one I found on the weekend made the forth one, they are.
1973-1974 V135 VC-Mustang (Mark IR)- Red 1973-1974 V135 VC-Mustang (Mark IG)- Green
1974-1978 V206 VC-Mustang (Mark II)- G4 No Prime (last weeks find) 1974-1978 V207 VC-Mustang (Mark III)- Remote Primer.
There is apparently a 1973-1974 V135 VC-Mustang (Mark IW)- White Top Green, but I have never seen one of these. So I'm wondering if they even exist.
I also have the Mustang that followed from these.Which was just known as a Mustang no VC in the name.Looks pretty much the same, well here I'll show you.

You sure have a nice collection. At least you are allowed to collect a lot of mowers. If you find a spare piece please let me know.

Yes I am lucky I have a good wife who doesn't mind. Just as long as I keep it neat and don't mess the place up.
