Hey there,
i Have worked on mainly Briggs and Stratton engines for the past 1 year
Ive never worked on a victa motor at all.
Few Questions,
1. What are the 2 wires (black and red) For? Theres not wires going into the carby
2. Im having trouble Getting the Throttle cable Ball back into the carby (keeps falling out of its little hole)
3. There is a 3rd tube coming out of the carby, (underneath the cap where the diaphragm is seated) its not connected to anything, therefore i have no idea what its for

With the throttle cable to put them back In you have to dismantle the carby an clip it in from the inside. Then it should stay there.

With the hoses when theres 3 isnt it one for fuel, one for decomp, an one goes Into the cooling cowl?

Hi Jarryd, firstly is it a powertorque engine or the earlier type, full crank engine? I'll assume its a powertorque as the black and red wires would suggest they are part of the diode/charging setup from what was once an electric start mower, if they are just terminate them and ignore them.
The vacuum tube from the governor diaphragm goes to the nipple on the flywheel cowl just under the carb and off to the right a little.
And as Nathan said, pop off the diaphragm cover and remove the diaphram to "click" the ball back into position. Once it's in the easiest way to keep it there while you reassemle the carb is to open the throttle all the way thus turnig the cam and keeping itin position.

The ball doesnt simply click in, it goes in and then falls back out again.
I can get another G4 Carb off ebay
As for the deck, tremendous amounts of welding and griding is needed for it to be in Mint condition

Try putting the throttle in the stop position and then try and click the ball in. You should hear a snap sound which will show you it's clicked in properly. You may need to move the throttle into the run position ever so slightly and then it should click in easily.

If you can upload a photo we can check if something else might be wrong.

Remember this process is much easier when the carby is apart with just the cam sitting in the carby body. Also remember the ball spot on the cam needs to be in line to where the throttle cable snaps into it's guide.

I can get the ball all the way through the hole and even move it up to where the diaphragm sits.
I think that its probably Flared the hole for the ball
I cant find any Cam's on ebay. All i need is the cam and it will work perfectly again
