Hey all,
I am soon going to pick up a Victa 2 stroke (unsure which model)
I just have a Few Questions regarding Re painting?
Obviously ill be washing the entire Deck down before stripping.
What type of Paint shall i use (im going to spray the Deck Cherry Red smile )
Im obviously going to Spray paint it because i dont have access to a spray gun (i do but its my fathers)
And, after my final coat, should i spray some sort of Protector on it?
Any help will be appreciated smile
Cheers,
Jarryd (ifixmowers)

Alot of people use the killrust paints either pressure pack or tin. But you will be limited to colours.

I will look into the Killrust Range.
What are the price of each Spray can?

last time I got some was around $15 a can, most victas after the early 80s are powder coated, hence the fairly durable finish, paint doesnt really hold up that well as compared.

Powder coating is best...Spray gun next.Spies Hecker is extremely durable in the industrial versions..EG "CATerpillar Yellow". Killrust in the "One step" I prefer. Its the best of the spray enamels. Will still chip and sometimes doesnt like fuel. But for static displays its perfect. Has a very deep glossy finish with very little blemishes and hides more than most.
Super cheap often have 2 for $20 specials,so I stcok up when i can...price range is generally from 13 to 16 a tin. As for clear coates or the like...Your choice But in spray form not that effective or needed. You will find alloy base models should hold better than bare steel. You can run some stick on alloy tape under the fuel area if it suits, might offer a bit of protection and is very adhesive....

Hey guys cheers smile
To make the paint stick better, is it worth running a sander over it? so the paint has something to stick to?

Whether your using enamel or hammertone yes you will need to sand.If your using hammertone you won't need to sand as much as it does stick and go harder than enamel, also it does fill a lot scratches and blemishes.Depending on the finish you want would depend on what preparation you do.The better the preparation the better the finish.

Here for a good time, not a long time.
