Hey guys i have a Briggs and stratton series 200 that doesnt shut off when i retard the throttle.
Ive tried many ways to shut it up but i think it needs a toggle switch.
i have no idea in how im going to do this, just wondering is there any diagrams of how to do it?

all you need to do is earth the spark plug or plug lead to the body. either with a switch or even simpler a metal flap or use a screwdriver.see pic
most toggle switches are wired to the points under the magneto housing.then earthed to body through the switch.

And by the way, is that a rover lawn mower? looks almost identical to my brothers rover utility.
Or is it a Victa?

yep shes a rover. doesnt have a briggs motor it has a villiers engine though,
remember if you use a screwdriver to stop the mower dont touch the metal bits with your fingers or you will get zapped. eek

Fitting a toggle switch is not really the key for repairing something like this, pop up a couple of photos of the throttle plate area of the motor with the air cleaner removed, one photo of the throttle in the stop position and one in the run position, it would either be cable adjustment or the wire leading to the throttle plate has become unclipped or fouled.

Hey guys cheers for the help smile
My brother has the Rover Model# 2? (something like that)
I fiddled with the Earth lead leading to where the throttle is connected and Jiggled it. Also sprayed some INOX on it.
Not it finally turns off without having to either
a) Put my foot ontop of the rotating Flywheel cover (b&s 200)
b) pull the spark plug out and get zapped 20000 times
