Hi Guys,
I recently aquired a fairly new victa power torque that only needed a couple of minor repairs to the carby and a good clean to get it going. See below:

So far I have:
Replaced the primer cap and needle as it was cracked
Replaced the carby end cap as it was cracked
Replaced all o rings (Starter, Large and small ring on carby manifold and primer cap o ring

The problem I have is that the engine still feels like it is over reving when you compare it to an older normal power torque. Or......... do these ones just have more power and more grunt.
The engine idles beautifully and starts first pull.
Any tips would be appreciated

Thanks

If anything the newer ones run slower than the old ones by ear, if it idles well generally full speed is about correct on these, I would be double checking that the porto n the block for the vacuum hose isnt blocked and that the diaphragm is seated correctly.

Took the engine off this morning to have a look at the port and it was blocked up with gunk.

I also doubled checked the diaphragm and when you suck and blow on the governor hose the poppet valve was moving nicely.

Put it all back together and it runs much better. It no longer sounds like its going to take off!!!

My second question is that how does this happen to such a new mower. Iv only really seen the older ones blocked up.

Do I sell or keep this one for myself as my mower is an old vc 160 and it's never missed a beat.........
